Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of September 14, (1089) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (1) fallen hero today. This (1) fallen hero from Patheingyi Township in Mandalay Region was killed on September 12 and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.

As of September 14, a total of (6477) people are currently under detention. (275) people have been sentenced in person, of them 26 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1984 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 65 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. We are also continuing to verify the recently released detainees.

On September 12, at around 10 pm in Patheingyi Township in Mandalay Region, three youths were shot, whilst returning home on a motorbike, and passed through a camp set up by terrorist junta troops. A 17-year-old, Bee Bee, who was one of the three youths, was shot in the back and groin. Another was shot in the back and got injured.

The daughter of Maung Nyo, the MP for Mabein Constituency in Shan State, was arrested at home, as a hostage on September 12, when the terrorist junta forces did not find Maung Nyo. 

On the night of September 12, at Shwebo Township in Sagaing Region, Ni Ni Win, Phyo Min Thant and Thein Toke, who are the wife, son and younger brother of the Police Sergeant of Shwebo Township, Yan Naing Linn, were beaten and arrested. This happened when the terrorist junta forces did not find the Police Sergeant, Yan Naing Linn, who is involved in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM). In addition to this, railway staff; Arkar Hein and Win were also arrested nearby.
