Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of September 4, (1046) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (2) fallen heroes today. (1) from Taze Township in Sagaing Region was killed today and (1) from Pauk Township in Magway Region was killed on August 29 and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.

As of September 4, a total of (6230) people are currently under detention. (264) people have been sentenced in person, of them 26 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1984 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 65 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. We are also continuing to verify the recently released detainees. 

Kan Tun, living in Falamchai Village in Sagaing Region’s Taze Township, was shot and killed today around 4 am when he ran into terrorist junta’s soldiers on the way to Chaung Sone Village. On his body were gunshot injuries to his leg and stomach, and knife cut injuries on his neck. 

Kinma Village in Magway Region’s Pauk Township, where the whole village was burned down by the terrorist junta’s troops on June 15, was raided by junta troops on August 27, killing a Kinma Villager Nyunt Wai by setting him on fire on August 29. 

Pyone Kyi, Magway Township NLD executive member, living in Thayet Pin Kwet Village in Nankat Kyun Village Tract in Magway Township in Magway Region, and Moe Kyi, NLD executive member of Nankat Kyun Village Tract, living in Kyun Su Village, were arrested by the terrorist junta on September 3.
