Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of September 3, (1044) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (1) fallen hero today. This (1) fallen hero from Pale Township in Sagaing Region was killed on September 1 and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.

As of September 3, a total of (6197) people are currently under detention. (262) people have been sentenced in person, of them 26 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1984 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 65 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. We are also continuing to verify the recently released detainees. 

On September 1, the terrorist junta’s troops arrived at Khin Thar Village in Sagaing Region’s Pale Township, and killed a local villager, Than Htay. Knife injuries were found in the stomach, chest and neck of the body of Than Htay. 

Three sons of NLD supporter Shwe Win, aged 17 years old, 13 years old and 11 years old, were arrested on August 30 at Ingapu Town in Ayeyarwaddy Region by the terrorist junta, when they did not find him. On August 31, Shwe Win’s 13 years old son was released. His two other children remain in detention at Ingapu Police Station. Shwe Win makes a living from riding a trishaw and fishing.
