Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of 28 July, (936) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (2) fallen heroes today. These (2) fallen heroes from Mandalay and Pyay Town in Bago Region were killed the previous days and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP, the actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.
As of July 28, a total of (5400) people are currently under detention. (255) people have been sentenced in person, of them 26 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1963 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 65 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. We are also continuing to verify the recently released detainees.
Pro-democracy protesters named Thu Thu Zin was shot dead on the spot, Toe Toe Kyaw and another young woman (identity not yet confirmed) were injured and arrested in a violent crackdown by the military junta wearing plain clothes who opened fire on the Mya Taung protest column at the East shrine entrance of Mahamuni Buddha Temple in Mandalay on the afternoon of July 27. It is reported that Toe Toe is in serious condition, we are awaiting confirmation on the condition of the other young woman.
Tin Min Htut a.k.a Ka Lar, was shot dead by the terrorist junta with another man escaping, on July 25 at Pyay Town in Bago Region while Tin Min Htut was riding a motorbike with the other man on the back seat when they did not stop when demanded.
