Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of 22 July, (931) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (2) fallen heroes today. These (2) fallen heroes from Minkin Township and Shwebo Township in Sagaing Region were killed yesterday and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP, the actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.
As of July 22, a total of (5333) people are currently under detention. (255) people have been sentenced in person, of them 26 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1963 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 65 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. We are also continuing to verify the recently released detainees.
On July 21, terrorist junta’s troops raided Kun Seik Village in Sagaing Region’s Shwebo Township and shot dead local villager Thein Tint a.k.a Jit Leik, when he was running away in fear.
Khin Mar Yi a.k.a Phwar Cho, former chairman of Sagaing Region’s Minkin Township Development Committee, who was arrested and charged under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code since March for involvement in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) and protesting, suffers from chronic diabetes. She died on July 21 in a Minkin detention cell due to diabetes and heart failure as she was not allowed to receive medical treatment at hospital while detained.
On the night of July 20, Mya Wunn Yan, chief editor of Than Lwin Thway Chinn News Agency based in Shan State’s Taunggyi City, and her two daughters, Nan Khin Hphone Thwe and Su Myat Noe, who are also reporters, were arrested at home in Taunggyi by the terrorist junta.
