Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of 19 July, (919) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (5) fallen heroes today. These (5) fallen heroes from Bago Township in Bago Region and Shwebo Township in Sagaing Region were killed the previous days and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP, the actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.
As of July 19, a total of (5293) people are currently under detention. (255) people have been sentenced in person, of them 26 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1963 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 65 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. We are also continuing to verify the recently released detainees.
The family was informed that political activist Naing Linn Soe a.k.a. Ye Gyi from Bago Township in Bago Region, who was detained and interrogated by Infantry Division No.77 in Bago since June, was sent to hospital on July 17 due to COVID-19, and died on July 18. He was arrested after his wife was detained as a hostage on June 14, and forced to show his hiding place to the terrorist junta. On the night of July 17, junta troops raided Seik Khun village in Sagaing Region’s Shwebo Township and shot four youths to death unprovoked while they were guarding the village. These youths are Thet Soe, Htay Hlaing Win, Aung Paing Htwe and Aung Hein Kyaw.
Activist Tin Htut Paing and Aung Min Oo were arrested at an apartment in Yangon Region’s Hlaing Township by junta forces on the night of July 18. In addition to this, on the night of July 18, Lin Htin Soe, Mandalay Region’s Chairman of the Takhon Farmer Federation for Burma, living in Pyin Oo Lwin Township in Mandalay Region, was arrested at his home by the junta, the junta forces also confiscated some money and a car from his home.
