Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of 15 July, (912) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (1) fallen hero today. This (1) fallen hero from Pyi Gyi Dagun Township in Mandalay Region was killed on the previous day and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP, the actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.

As of July 15, a total of (5269) people are currently under detention. (254) people have been sentenced in person, of them 26 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1963 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 65 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. We are also continuing to verify the recently released detainees. 

Sithu, 16 years old, was shot dead as the terrorist junta opened fire into the crowd arguing among each other in Pyi Gyi Dagun Township, Mandalay Region on July 14. 

Htwe Htwe Myint, NLD member of Aye Thar Yar Town in Shan State’s Taunggyi Township, was arrested at home under Section 505(a) of the Penal Code on July 12 by the terrorist junta for allegedly writing on Facebook criticizing the junta.
