Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of 13 July, (906) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (4) fallen heroes today. These (4) fallen heroes from Sub-MyoThit Township in Tamu District in Sagaing Region were killed on previous days and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP, the actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.

As of July 13, a total of (5239) people are currently under detention. (252) people have been sentenced in person, of them 26 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1963 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 65 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. We are also continuing to verify the recently released detainees. 

Two teenagers were shot dead on spot, three arrested and one managed to escape when the terrorist junta opened fire on the six teenagers from Naungket village in Sub-MyoThit Township, Tamu District, Sagaing Region who were returning home  from visiting a nearby village at 10pm on July 10. One of the three arrested teenagers was shot in the stomach and released on July 12. The two others were tortured to death in detention, it is not yet confirmed if they were the teenagers under-18. The four fallen teenagers were Ngam Chin Pso, 23 years old, Dou Kho Lel, 16 years old, Mang Gou, 17 years old, and Pao Gin Mang, 18 years old. The bodies were not returned to the families. 

AAPP will continue to keep you informed of verified daily arrests, charges, sentences and fatalities in relation to the attempted coup, and update our lists to the details of these alleged offences. If you receive any information about detentions of, or charges against CSO leaders, activists, journalists, CDM workers, other civilians and fallen heroes in relation to the military and police crackdown on dissent.
