Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of 1 July, (885) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. oup. AAPP compiled and documented (1) fallen hero today. This (1) fallen hero from Wundwin Township in Mandalay Region was killed on a previous day and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP, the actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.
As of July 1, a total of (5195) people are currently under detention; of them (233) are sentenced. 1965 have been issued arrest warrants; of them 40 were sentenced to death and 14 to three years imprisonment with hard labour, 39 to 20 years imprisonment with hard labour and 25 to 7 years imprisonment with hard labour, 1 to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour, who are evading arrest. The names of released detainees have not been immediately available to compile, we will continue to add the released names when confirmed.
Soe San, NLD member in Talsu Village of Wundwin Township, Mandalay Region, who was arrested on June 29, died on June 30. It was informed that he died from COVID-19, however, Soe San had been beaten by the soldiers stationed at the Pintale Hospital.
Assistant surgeon Wutt Yi Aung from Pyay Township, Bago Region, who is involved in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM), was arrested in the morning of July 1. Ko Htike a.k.a Kyaw Linn Htike, who is a member of the Thukha Kar Yi Charity Association and a township Red Cross member in Bago Region’s Nattalin Township, was arrested on the night of June 29 after returning from sending back the patient. In addition to this, Maung Sein, Township NLD Information Committee Member of Taungtha Township in Mandalay Region, who was evading arrest, was arrested on the night of June 29 in Taungtha Township.
