Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (8,232) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.

A total of (31,651) people have been arrested by the junta for opposing their arbitrary seizure of power. Of those arrested, (14,645) are confirmed to still be in detention, while (7,876) remain to be verified.

These are the numbers reported by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.

According to the data collected by the AAPP, from January 1 to July 31, 2026, the junta killed (107) children in total under the age of 18 across the country; (48) girls and (59) boys. The youngest recorded death was a two-month-old boy. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among them, Bago Region records the highest number of deaths, totaling (28), followed by (21) people in Chin State. Moreover, among the (107) deceased, (76) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, marking the highest cause of death, followed by (17) people who were killed after being detained by the junta.

On June 29, junta forces conducted an aerial bombing using jet fighter aircraft on Sheim Village, Mindat Township, Chin State. A bomb exploded on a house in the village, instantly killing three cousins, who were children under the age of 18: Thang Yaung, Tang Lai, and Awn Yaung, from bomb shrapnel.
