“For decades, Burma’s military dictators have repeatedly seized state power, appearing under different uniforms. They are being legitimized by other foreign powers who, in part, make it possible. No matter how often they change their uniforms, the junta’s conduct remains unchanged. They continue to bomb and kill innocent civilians day after day and unjustly detain the leaders of the country elected by the people. Their actions constitute crimes against humanity and war crimes. However, due to the actions of certain powerful nations and some neighboring countries, the junta leaders enjoy impunity from justice, effectively granting them a license to continue committing international crimes. In the current situation, the most critical priority for Burma is to ensure the protection of its people.” U Bo Kyi, Joint Secretary of AAPP
