Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (8,423) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.

A total of (31,971) people have been arrested by the junta for opposing their arbitrary seizure of power. Of those arrested, (14,846) are confirmed to still be in detention, while (7,856) remain to be verified.

These are the numbers reported by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.

According to data collected by AAPP, from July 1 to September 24, 2026, (27) people in total; (12) women and (15) men, were killed by the junta in Bago Region, including (5) children under the age of 18. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among them, (20) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, marking the highest cause of death. During the stated period in the Bago region, the AAPP has also received information regarding the death of (10) civilians, as a result of junta attacks, whose identities have yet to be confirmed.

On September 5, junta forces stationed in Ta Khun Taing Village, Kyaukkyi Township, Bago Region, carried out a drone bombing on Boke Su Khin Village in Phyu Township. As a result, six civilians, including one under the age of 18, were killed from bomb shrapnel.
