Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,847)people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (29,353) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,185) are currently in detention, (10,882) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by the AAPP, from January 1 to July 2, 2025, (139) children in total under the age of 18; (74) girls and (65) boys, were killed by the junta across the country. The youngest recorded death was a 3 month old boy. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among them, Sagaing Region records the highest number of deaths, totaling (49), followed by (22) people in Magway Region. Moreover, among the (139) deceased, (115) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, recording the highest cause of death.
Moreover, during the stated period, (2) children in total, under the age of 18; (1) girl who was aged 6 and (1)boy who was aged 15, have been arrested by the junta in relation to the Spring Revolution across the country.
On May 25, junta forces arrested three family members in Nyaung-U Township, Mandalay Region: Myo Ko Ko (also known as Sai Ko Ko, Zin Min Htet, and Linn Linn Zaw), his wife Pyone Pyone, and their 6-year-old daughter Linn Lat Shwe, who are from Yangon Region, for their alleged involvement in shooting and killing Cho Tun Aung, a former Brigadier General, on May 22, 2025.
