Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,833) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (29,338) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,180) are currently in detention, (10,881) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by the AAPP, from January 1 to June 27, 2025, (105) people in total; (17) women and (88) men, have been killed in detainment by the junta across the country, including (5) children under the age of 18. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among them, Magway Region recorded the highest number of fatalities, totaling (42) people, followed by (27) people who were killed in the Sagaing Region.
Starting on June 23, a military column comprising a coalition of junta forces and Pyu Saw Htee militiamen, launched an offensive into Zee Kone, Tha Pyay Thar, Hpo Kone, and Kyaung Kone Villages in Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region. During the attacks, they apprehended, tortured, and killed nine locals. The victims were identified as Hline Zar Zar, Aung Naing, Tayote Gyi, and Myo Htet from Tha Pyay Thar Village; Win and Chit Win from Hpo Kone Village; and Thein Toe, Myint Maung, and Myo Hsann from Kyaung Kone Village. Hline Zar Zar faced a physical disability.
