Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Date – 24 June 2025
Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,814) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (29,324) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,170) are currently in detention, (10,874) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by AAPP, from January 1 to June 24, 2025, (65) people in total; (31) women and (34) men, were killed by the junta in Mandalay Region, including (6) children under the age of 18. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among them, (45) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, marking the highest cause of death.
On June 21, junta forces conducted aerial bombings on Ma Yoe Kone, Ywar Shey, and Kyar Taing Villages in Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region, without any clashes occurring. The attacks instantly killed an elderly man named Paw Nyein and his daughter, Khin Moe Swe, due to bomb shrapnel.
