Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,607) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (29,111) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,200) are currently in detention, (10,796) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
Junta forces have continuously carried out attacks, targeting areas where the revolutionary movement is strongest. As a result of heavy weaponry fire and airstrikes across Sagaing, Magway, and Mandalay Regions since early May, there have been civilian casualties. On May 1, artillery fire in Ywar Thar Yar Village, Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region, killed two children due to artillery shrapnel. On the same day, a school in Ah Nyar Ka Tin Village, Saw Township, Magway Region, was bombed by aircraft, killing four people, including a child, and destroying at least five homes, as well as several school buildings.
In addition, on May 2, junta forces conducted a drone bombing on a school compound in Maw Tone (West) Village, Tanintharyi Township, Tanintharyi Region, destroying the school. On May 3, an aerial bombing on a school in Ywar Tan Shey Village, Madaya Township, Mandalay Region, destroyed the village school building and killed a civilian.
