Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Date – 25 April 2025
Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,565) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (29,070) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,170) are currently in detention, (10,760) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by AAPP, from April 1 to 25, 2025, (28) people in total; (17) women and (11) men, were killed by the junta in Sagaing Region, including (5) children under the age of 18. These are the numbers that have been verified. Among the deceased, (26) peop le were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, recording the highest cause of death, and (2) were killed after being detained by the junta.
On April 23, at approximately 11:40 a.m., junta forces carried out an aerial bombing on Let Hloke Village, Tabayin Township, Sagaing Region, despite no clashes occurring. The attack killed five local residents—Hsann Zaw, Aung Kyaw Kyaw, Saung, Ah Lone, and Jell Oo—due to bomb shrapnel.
