Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Date – 10 April 2025
Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,491) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (29,020) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,187) are currently in detention, (10,760) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by AAPP, from January 1 to April 10, 2025, (47) people in total; (25) women and (22) men, were killed by the junta’s artillery strikes across the country, including (7) children under the age of 18. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among them, Magway Region records the highest number of fatalities, with (10) people confirmed dead, while (2) people were killed in Kayah State.
On April 4, at approximately 11:30 a.m., junta forces from Infantry Battalion 422 (IB-422), stationed in Mobye Town, fired heavy weaponry at Pi Kin Kaw Khu Village, Loikaw Township, Kayah State, killing a local named Kue Luu, due to artillery shrapnel.
