These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to observations by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), despite the junta’s declaration of a temporary ceasefire from April 2 to 22—citing earthquake relief and rehabilitation activities—it has continued to carry out airstrikes and fire heavy weaponry in various regions and states across the country on an almost daily basis. On April 4, junta forces conducted an airstrike and fired heavy weaponry at Pi Kin Kaw Khu Village in Loikaw Township, Kayah State, killing five civilians. On the same day, they also carried out aerial bombings using jet fighter aircraft in Toungup Township, Rakhine State, destroying homes—including a church—and injuring several civilians.
Additionally, on April 5, junta forces launched airstrikes and fired heavy weaponry in Nawnghkio Township and Nyaungshwe Township in Shan State, Pakokku Township in Magway Region, and Madaya Township in Mandalay Region. These attacks destroyed more than 20 houses and injured several civilians. On April 6, junta forces dropped bombs using parachutes in aerial bombings on Budalin Township and Chaung-U Township in Sagaing Region, resulting in the deaths of four civilians and injuring many others.
