Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Date – 3 April 2025
Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,481) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (28,985) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,161) are currently in detention, (10,741) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by AAPP, from January 1 to March 31, 2025, the junta killed (353) people in total across the country; (147) women and (206) men, with (54) children under the age of 18, including two boys of which were aged one-year-old. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among the deaths, (95) people were killed in Magway Region, recording the highest number of fatalities, followed by (56) in Sagaing Region. Moreover, (235) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, recording the highest cause of death.
During the stated period, the junta arrested (59) people in relation to the Spring Revolution across the country: (13) women and (46) men, including (1) child under the age of 18. Among them, (14) people were arrested in Yangon Region, recording the highest number of arrests, followed by (12) in Mandalay Region.
