Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Date – 1 April 2025
Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,476) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (28,968) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,171) are currently in detention, (10,749) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by AAPP, from March 1 to 31, 2025, the junta killed (86) people in total across the country; (28) women and (58) men, including (11) children under the age of 18. These are the numbers that have been verified. Among the deaths, Magway Region recorded the highest number of fatalities, totaling (42). Among the (86) deceased, (54) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes.
On March 27, at approximately 5 p.m., the Northwestern Command Headquarters of the junta forces conducted an aerial bombing using paramotors in Htan Pu Village, Salingyi Township, Sagaing Region. The explosion struck inside the village, killing a local woman, Saw Kyi, and injuring around ten other residents due to bomb shrapnel.
