There have been instances of death among political prisoners in prisons [across the country] due to inadequate medical care. Thiha, a political prisoner detained in Mandalay (Obo) Prison in Aungmyaythazan Township, Mandalay Region, had been suffering from thyroid cancer and died on March 21, 2025, at 4 a.m. due to a lack of access to healthcare.
