Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Date – 12 March 2025
Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,400) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (28,812) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,032) are currently in detention, (10,594) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by AAPP, from January 1 to March 12, 2025, (183) people in total; (96) women and (87) men, were killed by the junta’s airstrikes across the country, including (33) children under the age of 18. These are numbers that have been verified. Among the deaths, (29) people were killed in Magway Region.
On March 11, at 3:11 p.m., the junta’s No. (22) Directorate of Defense Industries (DI), situated in Seikphyu Township, carried out an aerial bombing with paramotors in Htauk Shar Pin Village, Pauk Township, Magway Region, despite no clashes occurring. The explosion struck near a school in the village, instantly killing a local woman, Tint, due to bomb shrapnel.
