Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Date – 10 March 2025
Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,398) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (28,779) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,001) are currently in detention, (10,561) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
Over the past week, junta forces have launched ground offensives, conducted airstrikes, and fired heavy weaponry in multiple regions and states across the country, resulting in civilian casualties, death, and destruction to buildings. Many locals were forced to flee for safety. On March 4, junta forces carried out an airstrike in Nat Saunt Village in Taungtha Township, Mandalay Region, killing six civilians, injuring many others, and setting houses on fire. On March 5, they conducted an airstrike on a monastery in Kyauk Kwin Village, Hpapun Township, Kayin State, despite no clashes occurring, killing the abbot.
Moreover, on March 6, junta forces carried out a bombing from a drone in U Gin Village in Kyaukpyu Township, Rakhine State, nearly destroying the entire village in the resulting fire. That same day, they also conducted an airstrike in War Bo Village in Sittwe Township, Rakhine State, burning down nearly 40 houses. On March 7, junta forces fired heavy weaponry at Auk Khon Village in Phyu Township, Bago Region, before raiding the village. An abbot was killed in the attack.
