Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Date – 7 March 2025
Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,389) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (28,767) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (21,990) are currently in detention, (10,538) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by AAPP, from March 1 to 7, 2025, the junta killed (15) people in total across the country; (4) women and (11) men. These are the numbers that have been verified. Among the deaths, Magway Region recorded the highest number of fatalities, totaling (12). Among the (15) deceased, (9) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, and (5) were killed by the junta’s gunfire.
On March 2, junta forces raided Myay Sun Taw Village, Yesagyo Township, Magway Region, apprehended several locals, and set fire to houses in the village. When some residents tried to stop them, the junta forces shot and killed them before burning their bodies. The victims were identified as Han Tin, Htay Myint, Thanmani, Hla Ngwe, and Than Pyae.
