Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup
Date – 11 February 2025
Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,276) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (28,550) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (21,813) are currently in detention, (10,309) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by the AAPP, from January 1 to February 11, 2025, (149) people in total; (71) women and (78) men, were killed by the junta across the country, including (24) children under the age of 18. The youngest recorded death was a 1 year old boy. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among them, (106) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, recording the highest cause of death. This is followed by (26) people who were killed by the junta’s artillery strikes, recording the second highest cause of death.
On February 8, 2025, at approximately 12 p.m., junta forces fired heavy weaponry at Yae Hlan Village, Yesagyo Township, Magway Region, killing Yamin Oo due to artillery shrapnel.
