Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Date – 7 February 2025
Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,263) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (28,526) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (21,793) are currently in detention, (10,286) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by AAPP, from February 1 to 7, 2025, (10) people in total; (3) women including a 16-year-old girl and (7) men, were killed by the junta across the country. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among them, (6) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, marking the highest cause of death. The other (4) were killed by the junta’s artillery strikes.
On February 3, IB-264 of the junta forces stationed in Peinzalok Town, Nyaunglebin Township, Bago Region, opened fire with heavy weaponry. The explosion struck Ah Hlaing Village, Kyaukkyi Township, killing a girl named Su Mon from artillery shrapnel.
