Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup
Date – 29 November 2024
Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,000) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (27,741) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (21,179) are currently in detention, (9,546) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by the AAPP, from November 1 to 29, 2024, (31) women and (44) men; (75) people in total were killed by the junta across the country with Rakhine State recording the highest number of fatalities with (21) victims. Among (75) deceased, (41) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes making the highest number of deaths.
In addition, during the state period, (2) women and (25) men; (27) people in total, have been arrested and still detained by the junta across the country with Bago Region recording the highest number of arrests with (8) people.
