Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup
Date – 7 November 2024
Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (5,936) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (27,638) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (21,087) are currently in detention, (9,489) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by the AAPP, from November 1 to 7, 2024, (11) people in total; (4) women and (7) men, were killed by the junta across the country. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among them, (9) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes and the other (2) by the junta’s artillery strikes. Among the (11) fatalities, Sagaing Region recorded the highest number of deaths, totaling (6) people.
On November 5, at approximately 3:30 p.m., jet aircraft from the junta’s Tada-U Air Force Base carried out an aerial bombing in Aing Ma Village, Pale Township, Sagaing Region, without any clashes occurring. The attack instantly killed four locals, all due to bomb shrapnel.
