Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Date – 11 October 2024
Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (5,816) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (27,541) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (21,044) are currently in detention, (9,506) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by the AAPP, from October 1 to 11, 2024, a total of (22) people; (9) women and (13) men, were killed by the junta in the Rakhine State and all of the deaths were killed by junta’s airstrikes. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among the (22) fatalities, there are (3) children under the age of 18 and (7) people over the age of 60.
On October 7, at around 11:10 p.m., the junta’s air force conducted an aerial bombing on houses between 1st Road and 2nd Road near Ywar Thit Market in No. (4) Ward, Tan Hlwe Ywar Ma Town, Toungup Township, Rakhine State. Thirteen people were killed by the bomb shrapnel and their dead bodies were found at the site.
