Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (8,134) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
A total of (31,263) people have been arrested by the junta for opposing their arbitrary seizure of power. Of those arrested, (14,383) are confirmed to still be in detention, while (7,883) remain to be verified.
These are the numbers reported by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
The junta has been conducting airstrikes on civilians and non-military targets on a daily basis, resulting in an extremely high number of civilian casualties. In these airstrikes, drones and fighter jets were used to target villages inhabited by local civilians.
Due to junta’s airstrikes, on June 24, a couple in Tha But Kone Village, Mahlaing Township, Mandalay Region, and two children in Li Woe Village, Demoso Township, Kayah State, were killed. On June 25, five people, including two children, were killed in Tha Hmone Kone Village, Natmauk Township, Magway Region. On June 27, three people, including one child, were killed in Nat Kaung Kyin Village, Saw Township, Magway Region. On June 28, eight people, including children, were killed in Ta Laing Village, Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region. In addition, many civilians were injured in the airstrikes, according to information from the ground.
