Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,574) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (29,083) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,180) are currently in detention, (10,770) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
The junta had regained control of the city of Lashio over the past week, raising security concerns among residents and political activists. At the same time, the junta announced an extension of the nationwide ceasefire. However, the junta continued to carry out attacks with heavy weaponry, ground offensives and airstrikes in various regions and states. On April 21, junta forces raided and set fire to Ba La Ba Village in Yesagyo Township, Magway Region. The village held over 200 houses and was almost completely destroyed due to the raid. On April 25, junta forces conducted a drone bombing on Leik Kha Maw Village in Kyaukpyu Township, Rakhine State, killing three women, including a child.
Moreover, on April 26, junta forces carried out heavy weaponry attacks and airstrikes on Pan Taw Gyi Village, Lemyethna Township, Ayeyarwady Region, destroying a monastery and at least 10 houses. On the same day, junta forces conducted aerial bombings in Kale Township and Tigyaing Township in Sagaing Region, Dawei Township in Tanintharyi Region, and Madaya Township in Mandalay Region, killing around 10 civilians.
