Human Rights and Good Governance Discussion at Kyauk Kyee Township

On February 5, AAPP held a discussion about human rights and good governance for village and ward administrators at Kyaukkyi Township, Bago Division, from 10 am to 4 pm. Kyaukkyi Township Administrator, U Tin Myo Aung, gave an opening speech, and U Aung Myo Kyaw from AAPP explained the purpose of the discussion. The Kyaukkyi Township Police Chief, Executive Officer of the Township Development Committee, Township Officer of the Rural Development Department, and Officer of the Township Immigration Department all attended.

Ko Wanna Nwe addressed issues on human rights awareness, including the 30 Articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). U Ye Aung spoke about good governance. There were a total of 80 people in attendance, including staff of the Kyaukkyi Township General Administrative Department and Ward Administrators. Ko Bo Bo Lin from AAPP and Ko Bo Tauk from Eastern Bago Former Political Prisoners Group were involved in helping to facilitate the event. At the end of discussion, AAPP distributed UDHR pamphlets and posters, papers of the important factors of the good governance system and Chapter Four of the Ward or Village Tract Administration By-Laws.
