⁩ ⁨Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (8,156) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.

A total of (31,456) people have been arrested by the junta for opposing their arbitrary seizure of power. Of those arrested, (14,517) are confirmed to still be in detention, while (7,912) remain to be verified.

These are the numbers reported by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.

The junta has been carrying out daily attacks on civilians, and in July, (17) civilians were killed as a result of heavy weaponry attacks and airstrikes. On July 8, a mother and her child were killed in a heavy weaponry attack on Zero San Village, Yegyi Township, Ayeyarwady Region. On July 9, Khin Mun Village in Yesagyo Township, Magway Region, was attacked with heavy weaponry, killing two people.

In addition, on July 10, three people, including a child, were killed after junta forces conducted an aerial bombing on Ku Lar Chaung Village, Gwa Township, Rakhine State. On the same day, a man was killed in an aerial bombardment of Si Paing Village, Yedashe Township, Bago Region, according to information from the ground.
