Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (8,143) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
A total of (31,270) people have been arrested by the junta for opposing their arbitrary seizure of power. Of those arrested, (14,387) are confirmed to still be in detention, while (7,883) remain to be verified.
These are the numbers reported by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by AAPP, from April 1 to June 30, 2026, the junta killed (68) women in total across the country, including (11) girls under the age of 18. These are the numbers that have been verified. Among them, (45) women were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, marking the highest cause of death, followed by (15) women who were killed by the junta’s artillery strikes. During the stated period, the AAPP has also received information regarding the death of (66) women, as a result of junta attacks, whose identities have yet to be confirmed.
On June 28, the Tada-U Air Force of the junta forces conducted an aerial bombing with jet fighter aircraft on Ta Laing Village, Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region. The bomb shrapnel killed a total of eight civilians in that village, including four women.
