Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Date – 30 October 2024
Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (5,901) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (27,610) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (21,064) are currently in detention, (9,481) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to data collected by AAPP, from February 1, 2021 to October 30, 2024, (324) people in 2021 and (632) people in 2022, (612) people in 2023 and (375) people from January to October 30, 2024; (1,943) people in total, have been killed in detainment by the junta across the country. Among (1,941) deceased, Sagaing Region records the highest number of deaths, at (998) people.
On October 25, at approximately 7 p.m., a military column of around 80 junta personnel departed from Shwe Htee Hall in Tilin Township, Magway Region. On October 26, at around 4 a.m., the column raided Kyar Khe Village, Tilin Township, where junta personnel apprehended Win Hsann Oo, Min Thu, Myo Kyaw, and Than Sein Min, killing them by setting them on fire while they were still alive.
