According to the monitoring of AAPP’s Documentation and Research Department, in May, the junta has apprehended youths, including university students who have not yet completed their studies, in various regions and states, to forcibly draft them in the second batch of Military Conscription Training; sending them to military training schools.
The junta forces, who have been intentionally targeting civilians using excessive force, carried out an aerial bombing on villages in the northern part of Thandwe Township, Rakhine State, last week. This bombing injured locals and prompted around 2,000 people to flee to Thandwe Town.
Additionally, the junta forces, who have been destroying and stealing the belongings and houses of civilians across the country, set fire to Thar Yar Kone Village, in Kale Township, Sagaing Region, on May 16, destroying the entire village, including a church and nearly 400 houses.
AAPP will continue to provide updates on verified daily arrests, charges, sentences, and fatalities in relation to the attempted coup, and update the lists with details of these alleged offenses.
