Date – 10  October 2024<\/span><\/p>\n

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (5,800) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution. <\/span><\/p>\n

Since the coup, a total of (27,529) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (21,032) are currently in detention, (9,495) of whom are serving sentences. <\/span><\/p>\n

These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the data collected by the AAPP, from January 1 to October 10, 2024, the junta killed (35) civilians by setting them on fire while alive and (15) by setting fire to dead bodies after arrest; (50) people in total across the country. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among (50) deceased, (22) people were 60 years old and over and Mandalay Region records the highest number of fatalities with (19) victims.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the morning of September 25, a coalition of junta forces from LIB-15, based in Myingyan Town, and Pyu Saw Htee militiamen, raided Hpon Village, Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region. They apprehended three locals: Ye Win, Aung Kyaw Zin, and Kyaw Swar Win. They broke Ye Win’s legs, stabbed him in the chest, and shot him dead. They slit Kyaw Swar Win\u2019s throat and shot him dead. Aung Kyaw Zin was killed by a gunshot to the head. Afterward, they set fire to several local houses and placed the victims’ bodies inside.<\/span><\/p>\n
