Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (570) houses and buildings have been sealed off by the Junta since the 2021 coup up until April 2022.
As of May 18, 2022, (1848) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (4) fallen heroes today. These (4) fallen heroes from Khin-U Township in Sagaing Regio and Myaing Township in Magway Region were killed on previous days and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.
As of May 18, 2022, a total of (10685) people are currently under detention. (1069) people have been sentenced in person, of them 68 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1979 are evading arrest warrants. 120 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 41 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 109 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.
On May 14, the armed wing of the Junta raided Myoe Thit Village in Khin-U Township, Sagaing Region, and shot a local villager called Myint Soe to death at Lat Wae Kone, east of the village, while he was running away.
72-year-old Wat Gyi, his wife, 70-year-old Khin Htwe, and their son, 30-year-old Ye Myint lived in Padauk Kan Village in Myaing Township, Magway Region. On May 13, they were killed when their home exploded due to the armed wing of the junta firing artillery shells before raiding their village.
AAPP will continue to inform on verified daily arrests, charges, sentences and fatalities in relation to the attempted coup, and update the lists with details of these alleged offenses.
