MNHRC Hosted Meeting with Civil Society Organizations (10/2015)

20151005_160040On October 5 the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission (MNHRC) hosted a meeting with civil society organizations to exchange opinion about the recently published draft prison law.
The meeting was attended the following officers from the MNHRC: U Zaw Win, general director of the prison department (former); U Nyunt Swe, official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (former), U Soe Phone Myint from the Union Attorney General’s office (former); and Dr. Myint Kyi and Dr. Nyan Zaw, former government officials. In addition, the following persons attended: U Ko Ko Gyi from the 88 Generation Peace and Open Society; Ko Tate Naing, Ko Aung Myo Kyaw and Ko Zaw Moe from the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (Burma); Ko Tin Maung Oo from the Former Political Prisoners Society; Ko Thwin Lin Aung from the CSO forum; and Ma Khin Lay from the Triangle Women Support Group.
