6 Human Rights defenders sentanced

Dear all,

"Human Rights Defenders and Promoters" Network (HRDP) (HRDP) members who were detained in Henzada prison after beaten Oatpone village, Henzada Township, Irrawadday Division in Burma, since May 2, 2005 were given imprisonments today.


We were reported that Ko Myint Hlaing (@) Ko Myint Naing was sentenced to 8 years under the charges of 505(b) (c) and the rests were sentenced to 4 years imprisonments. They are Kyaw Lwin, Mya Sein, Hla Shein, U Myint and UWin.

HRDP was founded in 2002 and they are trying to promote and protect
human rights throughout Burma.On April,18,2007 two of them including Ko Myint Hlaing (@) Ko Myint Naing were badly beaten up by the group of people sponsored by
the military junta.
